We met on OkCupid! Roo was back on team smartphone after 2 years and Wordle was at the height of its nerdy popularity. Viola: like magic, we started on this joyous journey.

During October, Roo went on a whirlwind triangular roadtrip--40+ hours of driving in 7 days. We exchange lengthy, heartfelt voice messages, sometimes over half an hour in length, digging deep into our lives and emotions. We dress up as the Stardew Valley epistemic power couple Sebastian and Abigail for Halloween and officially become Joyfriends (not Jojafriends 😡) later that night.

Adam met Roo's childhood friends when we all went on a week long double Birthday adventure to the Olympic Peninsula, including the esteemed Forks, WA. (Adam is pretending to be a sparkly vampire)

We celebrated our 1-year anniversary in the most madcap way possible. From Best Friends Forever Festival in Vegas, to MagicCon DC winning 2 Giant Magic Cards, to meeting my Family in Jersey, to Philly for my childhood, to alpacas, dressing up as janitors, Cheesesteaks, more magic cards, explaining polyamory, real NY pizza, unhinged bands, and airport security with an unreasonably large box, we had a week teeming with action together.

Despite some hesitation, we team up by moving in together. We're worried it'll risk squeezing our still-budding relationship too hard, and we're scared losing something so special. And yet, we know we must and continue living life in the fast lane, making the best with what we're given. The day after Roo moves in, we host Thanksgiving for a bunch of our friends. Roo's shower also temporarily became a geyser.

Honestly, we worked a ton on BroomSweeper! We also hyper fixate immensely on Blue Prince for like a month together, with Adam driving and Roo swiftly scribing every scrap of information possible. Remember this for later. 🔍👀

Ok, we should show off what we built. Team TentaTeq travel up and down the West Coast showing off BroomSweeper at conventions to anyone who's willing to hear Adam say 'MineSweeper' 100 times. Long hours, long drives, and a long shot for success fill our lives, and yet somehow we remain supportive and caring as stress squeezes us. It becomes amazingly clear that we can do hard things together.

We've met some parents, things are getting steamy. We keep talking about building our lives together and what kind of future we want, and everytime it's about how excited we are to get closer (and weirder).

After a foggy NYE party, we push the big green release button on our digital baby. And...🥁...it's a success! 2 years of hard work pays off! We get to keep making games and following our passion. Teamwork does make the dream work. We can do hard things and even succeed at them in a stellar way. Roo celebrates with an incredibly gauche, flashy, extravagant, selfish present to themselves, a Wok. (Not even a fancy one, it was like $200)

Apparently, the CNN team has some questions about polyamory, so we casually invite them over to chat it out. We talk about Relationship Anarchy, wanting legal protections for different family types and multiple partners, how we have more than one soul mate, and how we're not that different from a group of best friends who are in love. We do not tell them about The Big Bed (it's 10 feet wide).

BroomSweeper 2.0 is released and the time has come for us to move onto the next big chapter in our lives, and there's no chapter we'd rather pen than a future where we grow ever-closer. With Roo's friends in town, and our friends over for Yet Another BroomSweeper Party, Adam asks Roo to make a speech about the history of BroomSweeper. Turns out, It was all a clever rouse to get behind Roo and down on one knee. Adam- 'рүү, надтай гэрлэх үү?' Roo- 'тийм'. I'm sure you can figure out what those mean. Adam presents a Blue Prince inspired Magic Card, 'Blu, Mansion Prince', signed and illustrated by Tonda Ros, the creator of Blue Prince, instead of a small metal band.

What will the future hold? Well, a marriage, hopefully. And many more adventures, hard questions, tough but true answers, and chapters full of living life in our own unique way.
